MikeG/David: No. You MUST edit the partition table (MBR/GUID) as described in this guide to remove the chameleon bootloader itself, AND delete the files from /Extra . Just deleting the files will not be effective.

@David - I am in exactly the same boat as you - afraid to reboot - hoping I can just delete the new folders in root - did it work?

Thanks

So iBug is in my boot, this persistent line that doesn't get listed in any "*.* /logthisbugforgodsake.log" but after a while I've got it written down and it is like:

"Bug: launchctl.c:3557 (23930):17: ioctl(s6, SIOCAIFADDR_IN6, &ifra6) != -1"

I am digging around with it there's some 3 or 4 full reset and reinstalls of 10.6.4 in my MacBook Pro.

I remember that once I've just blinded installed chameleon and lots of other hacks just because I was getting a lot of crashes from an old patched CS3 suite.

It never prevented me from booting or anything else, but lately this "Bug: launchctl.c:3557 (23930):17: ioctl(s6, SIOCAIFADDR_IN6, &ifra6) != -1" persisting in my boot is making my day.

Formated, zero out, reinstalled, reseted pram, smc and lots of other were done with any luck.

the GUID fix did not work for me but restarting into safe boot by holding the left shift key logging in and then restarting again did work for me (that is what apple care told me to do)

Hi,
Thanks so much for all the work you've done, and particularly, for the great, clear documentation!!
Amazingly, despite this, i did manage to miss the big red warnings etc., and accidentally installed to my mac's internal hd. I haven't rebooted (or done anything else other than come here & post this) since, and am hoping maybe i can just delete some files or something, without having to mess with the partition table? in disk utility, the drive isn't showing up any differently than before - same name, partition scheme (single), etc.. everything is working fine (i'm writing this from my mac).. can i just delete the "Extra" folder and the "pfix" that are now in my root folder? or have actual changes already been made, even though I haven't rebooted?
thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer my foolish self!!

GUID solution worked perfect for me. I resized it down a bit, applied, then resized it back to full (to keep all of my hard drive space). Thanks for posting this, made my idiot mistake bearable.
