Jason: v 1.0 RC3 only fixed the OSInstall mod for 10.6.0 retail DVD. v1.1 is the first to actually support the 10.6.3 DVD. I have had a half dozen experienced users test it and provide me with detailed feedback using a retail 10.6.3 DVD and they successfully made an MBR install with it.

So I’m not sure what to tell you – perhaps try a GUID partition scheme to see if the drive is even detected at all… Or start over fresh, something may have gone wrong during the execution of the installer – if you could provide the log of the installer running on a freshly restored copy of the 10.6.3 DVD to the USB (just press cmd+L during the installation phase of the installer, then show all messages, copy the entire contents and paste them to pastebin.com and then link me to that pastebin here) I could see if perhaps anything else went wrong. Also if you could do an MD5 hash of the OSInstall files after installation it could help me to determine if the mod was correctly applied or not.

    Hey Guys,

Love the tutorial, but i recently purchased the 10.6.3 upgrade disc so i an finally install SL on my PC, and it kept bothering me that i couldn’t install onto an MBR disc, looking around on your tutorial, it says this mod is automatically applied to the USB, and i saw that this issue was fixed in the bug fix 1.0 RC3, yet it happened to me using 1.1 (just double checked, it was 1.1). If you need me to verify anything, more than welcome to contact me.
